Smiling children at Buckingham Montessori

Welcome to Our Nursery

Step inside Buckingham Montessori and discover a nursery designed for little explorers. From our cosy Nest for babies to our vibrant Butterfly Room for preschoolers, every space is purpose-built for learning, play, and discovery.

A Space for Every Stage

We welcome children from 3 months to 5 years, with six dedicated rooms designed for each stage of development. Every room features a key worker approach. Your child's key person knows them, understands them, and guides their individual journey.

A purposeful environment where children reach their full potential, supported by people who genuinely care.

Our Rooms

Six dedicated spaces, each designed for a specific stage of your child's development.

The Nest

3 months – 2 years

Baby Room

The Nest is our dedicated baby room. A calm, safe, no-shoe zone designed to nurture your baby’s earliest discoveries. At this stage, children experience what Montessori called the “Absorbent Mind”. They learn simply by observing and interacting with their surroundings.

Sensory Room

A space where every sense becomes a way to learn. Lights, textures, sounds, and movement, all carefully chosen to calm, regulate, and spark curiosity in every child.

Some children need more than a classroom to thrive. Our sensory room gives them space to slow down, settle their nervous system, and explore the world through touch, light, and movement, on their own terms.

  • Calms over-stimulated children

Soft lights and gentle textures help children regulate emotions before stepping back into the classroom.

  • Builds balance and body awareness

The sensory swing develops vestibular processing, which underpins focus, coordination, and confidence.

  • Sparks cause-and-effect thinking

Light panels, sound toys, and tactile stations turn every interaction into a tiny experiment.

  • Inclusive by design

A purposeful environment for children with sensory processing needs, autism, or any child who simply learns differently.

More Than the Curriculum

Beyond the daily Montessori and EYFS programme, we offer a range of extracurricular clubs designed to develop new skills, explore interests, and build confidence.

Phonics Club

Early literacy through letter sounds, sound-matching games, and phonics songs. Builds the essential reading skills children need for school.

Maths Club

Counting, number recognition, shapes, sorting, and patterns through fun, interactive, hands-on activities.

Art Club

Painting, drawing, collage, and exploring materials and textures. Children express ideas and emotions while developing fine motor skills.

Dance & Drama Club

Movement, storytelling, and role play. Children build confidence, communication skills, and creative expression through performance.

Wiggle & Giggle

Stretching, jumping, balance exercises, and coordination games. Fun physical development that strengthens gross motor skills and body awareness.

Arabic Club

An introduction to Arabic language and culture. Simple words and phrases, songs, cultural stories, and basic letter recognition.

Every Child, Every Pace

We recognise that each child develops at their own pace, and some children may need additional support to reach their full potential.

Qualified SENCO Support

Our team includes qualified SENCO staff who observe development, create personalised plans, make referrals to specialists, and collaborate with families for consistent support.

Award-Winning Sensory Room

Our specialist sensory room supports children with sensory processing difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, or other developmental challenges. Recognised by Harrow Borough with a Champion award.

Montessori Approach for SEND

Montessori principles naturally support children with additional needs. Individualised learning at their own pace, hands-on multi-sensory experiences, and independence-building that promotes self-esteem and resilience.

Freshly Cooked, Every Day

We don't reheat meals from packets. Our on-site kitchen prepares fresh, nutritious food every single day.

Environmental Health Grade Five rating (the highest possible score). Four of your child's five-a-day built into every lunch.

Our Menu

We cater for all allergies and dietary requirements. A full sample menu is available on request during your visit.
